Common breeding resident from late Dec. to Sept, mostly in foothills and mountains, generally absent in western Central Valley and northwestern Pacific, some residents in southern Pacific and Caribbean slope. Its size is 58 centimeters and weights 480 g, long and pointed wings, long tail and deeply forked. Common in mountainous terrain with remains of humid forest. Is the most aerial of the raptors, almost always is in the air and is very fast when descent, use the legs to catch insects, lizards, snakes and pigeons of the nests and occasionally fruits.
