Violet Sabrewing

Resident, always near the restaurant.

The violet sabrewing, is common at middle elevations, from 1000 to 2400 meters above the level sea in Costa Rica. Its size is 15 centimeters, the male weights 11.5 g and the female 9.5 g.  Wide tail with white corners, enough fat, bent down peak especially in the female. Prefer the groveforest and the edge of the montane, near of the rivers hollow, banana plantations and sometimes the Heliconias.
